How it works. HEIC files are decoded with libheif 1.23 and encoded with libheif + kvazaar (HEVC), both compiled to WebAssembly, running in a background worker. Other formats use the browser's own decoder. HEIC output is fixed-quality sRGB; EXIF metadata (date, GPS) is not carried over. Phone orientation is applied, so images come out upright.
